Do you think 2 vegans ever meet and become a couple or is it always one of the couple who turns the other into a vegan?

In other words is my search for a vegan guy going to end up in disappointment?

I couldn't answer that first question of yours. I don't know what goes on in other people's lives. I was in two relationships with vegans. They both bombed. It seems it's not enough. I guess that's true with me, too. Like...I can't stand religious people and would rather be alone than live with the argument about things that don't exist, lol. I think the more intelligent and open-minded you get, it actually gets harder to find that "one". Less easy I guess. You'd think it'd be the other way around, eh?

I suppose it's different for everyone. Personally veganism is a big part of my belief system and lifestyle so I'd assume that I'd have alot more in common with another vegan. That being said, there are a few vegan people that I find really difficult so I wouldn't base a relationship simply on that similarity. I can't imagine kissing a meat mouth though

`i went out with a corpse cruncher, it ended very badly. He just simply had no compassion. Then again, I went out with my ex who I turned vegan and he still is vegan. Depends on their character, you wont always be dissapointed, but veggie/vegan is a good guage of peoples character, their ability to empathise and all that.

`It's generally been my experience that you can't turn anyone into a vegan -- and that it's pointless to try. I have had absolutely no problem dating people who eat meat, and I have never felt the urge to try to convert one of them to my eating style. Indeed, I don't even bring it up. Just as I would not want them trying to "convert" me, I would not try to argue with them about their eating philosophy. If they can't figure it out themselves, they are not going to figure it out...and they will only become annoyed with you for your self-righteous approach to what they eat. If the woman I'm going to date eats meat, I just make it a point not to go out dining with her! Believe it or not, there is more to people than what they eat. From my experiences, finding someone you agree with is not the key to a good relationship. The key is being able to respect them once you disagree...and you'll eventually disagree, because that's just how we human beings are....

`I wouldn't want to try and convert someone, seems too much like preaching, and that almost never works. You can only hope that your signifigant other will learn to see your point of view eventually and change of their own accord.

`I was surprised to read about someone prepared to go out with a meat eater. A vegan is by definition, someone who is a strict or pure vegetarian and a full-time one at that! It's also true of course, that two vegans, could be very different in other ways, though the philosophy would tend to make a person believe in the more progressive as against conservative type of politics.

Personally, I'm very much into alternative/ complimentary medicine types of healing. So, if a prospective partner was very hot on that, them being vegetarian rather than vegan may not be such a big deal. It all needs to be taken into consideration... :~)

My sentiment exactly, I could'nt agree with you more DVBERNARD. I only wish more people were more unbiased and less self-righteous. Being a vegan dosen't make one better than the other. We are all flawed.
