It was in Zanzibar, at a remote beach "hotel". Meal choices were limited. As a vegetarian who still ate seafood, I rationalized that sea creatures had a natual life until caught, so eating them was much less abhorrent than eating land animals. With no other food available than what was at my lodging, I placed my order early that morning for grilled fish and the fisherman went off to catch dinner. My dinner was long awaited and when served, my dinner stared back. I became vegan that day.
