I am vegan primarily because I believe no-one should be treated as the property of another and that includes animals. I also believe veganism is a more compassionate way of life and leaves a smaller footprint.

I have been vegan since I was 19 however I was briefly vegetarian when I was 8 years old (my choice).

Friends describe me as a good listener and a person of integrity.

Politically I am left leaning but I don't blindly follow any one doctrine. I think the best approach is to consider each issue case by case. I am strongly against exploitation of any kind and will always speak up against any mistreatment of the weak or vunerable, be they human or non-human.

I absolutely adore my two daughters (both vegan from conception) and am enjoying watching them grow up (although it seems to be happening too fast).

I have always had an affinity for animals and have had companion animals since I was a toddler. My two dogs were rescued (one from the streets, the other from an animal shelter) and I love them very much.

I enjoy reading and watching independent movies. I also like comedy and eating out at vegetarian restaurants.

I'm looking for a single vegan female to develop a relationship with or female vegan penpals. I am open to long distances relationships. If we are are right for each other, I don't think distance should stop us. Yes, Australia is a long way away, but once you get used to the time zone difference, technology makes communication relatively easy.

Whether you are a friend or something more, the traits that I value are warmth, sincerity, empathy and compassion. Being able to show your true self is important to me too. Not to mention having a laugh and being a bit silly occasionally (as a father of two young children & a primary school teacher, I am pretty good at it).

Veganism is an important part of my life and I probably couldn't connect with someone unless they were vegan or at least had intentions of being vegan.
