Gimme Raw Veggies & Hummus & I'm Happy Although I am single, I am not here looking for love. I am looking for vegan friends. I am days into it (10/25/11) now and have done more than enough research to realize that this will be the single biggest part of my life, even more so than my political and theological assertions, and I am outspoken about both. It only took a few days to suddenly find the thought of the texture of meat in my mouth revolting...even bacon, and I used to eat 15-18 slices in a sitting WITH eggs and heavily-buttered grits (real butter if I could afford it). I started this diet 65lbs. overweight and am already down 11lbs.! I'm sure it will slow down, but the current speed of weight loss is very exciting. I stay full, the diet has tremendous variety, and is unbelievably delicious so I could not be more pleased with this choice I've made for myself and my community. I did make a few mistakes early on, but I've got stuff printed out and stuck up on my cupboards and fridge and I'm pretty sure I'm on the right path now. I am looking forward to meeting vegan friends close by.
