Roxygirl, 56

Iam a 40 year old single mum and (very!)part time nurse who spends as much time as I can to stop the heart-rending abuse and slaughter of animals - demonstrations, free-food stalls and vegan fairs. I enjoy creative writing, all the creature comforts (lots of warmth, a drink of cider or soya latte, lovely sleep!, and dare I say it, several cigarettes!) I am quite a chaotic and busy person who tries to cram in as much as possible - I am not at all lonely, and have lots of friends already but it would be lovely to find a special friend, possibly even a 'soul-mate' to share the work and the joy of life with. I am a Christian, though I don't often make it to church as I end up writing my fairy-tale animal rights book in bed instead! I am romantic - not in terms of hearts and flowers and all that stuff - but in a faith for real love rather than some watered down need for company or s--. I hope as though I do not sound like I take myself ever so seriously - Aghhh! I love a good laugh. I am not into sport or fitness, but I do like a walk in the fresh air and am compelled to swim in the sea if I am ever lucky enough to be near it (I lived in Brighton for a couple of periods in my life - other than that I'm a born Oxford local) and particularly enjoy talks, films or documentaries that have
ethical or psychological interest (or Eastenders!) I am very slim, but my body is a bit haggard from the years of life and kids, and I am not organized or have enough time to pluck my eyebrows! I have a council maisonette which I did at one point love painting in bright colours and stencils - I do not mind at all that I will probably never get onto the 'propery market' as I have decided that my main priority in life is to help the animals and enjoy being creative for a while rather than a big career.
