Free to be You and Me Professionally I've been writin' books & articles about things like animals and authors and vegan shopping and people and publicizing things. When I'm not working I like cookin', spending time with my friends, spending time with my cats, watching music, and seeing where the wind blows me.

I think I cook good soup. I'm really good at losing myself listening to music while walking around Brooklyn. I'm good at keeping myself entertained on the cheap and making a lot out of a little.

I like to like what I do and don't want to waste time doing what I don't like.

Favorite books: Just Kids by Patti Smith, Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris, Farm Sanctuary by Gene Baur, Please Kill Me by Legs McNeil, The China Study by T. Colin Campbell, pretty much anything by Edna St. Vincent Millay or Sylvia Plath. My massive guilty pleasure is the Twilight Saga.

Favorite movies: Persona, Cabaret, Xanadu, Earthlings, Milk, and right now I'm watching Beyond the Valley of the Dolls and loving it....

Favorite music: Scissor Sisters, Jesus & Mary Chain, Disco Biscuits, occasionally Depeche Mode and the Smiths, LCD Soundsystem, a CD by Alice Russell, Dios, lots of moody 80s music like (embarrassed to admit) Alphaville and Tears for Fears, the song "Reign" by UNKLE, Duran Duran, The Beatles, Slits, Clash, Sigur Ros, Saint Etienne, Hot Hot Heat, Prokofiev, Crystal Castles, Diamanda Galas, lots more.
