Hey I'm Cyn and I'm 20. Just thought I'd join this website to see what it is all about...I became Vegetarian at first because I could not stand the thought of eating something that had have lived before. I just didn't feel right knowing that something that I was consuming once had a family, a life, and feelings. The thought of eating flesh sickened me. Then a few years later I cut out dairy and eggs after learning the horrible things the animals go through in the mass production of their products. I don't believe that it is right to stick certain animals up on a pedestal. [I.e Dog, Cat, Hamster.] Who is to say that a dogs life is of more value then a cows? Saying that a cow is stupid and a dog isn't, is not a justified answer. Just because dogs have been domesticated for many years, and have become "the norm" in people lives it does not mean that the value of its life is any more then that of a cow. How can one even put a value on a life of another living being? And who says that we have the right to do so? What makes us so much more superior? I could go on forever but I will stop there because I think you have gotten the gist of it. I find Veganism a much more fulfilling and natural lifestyle. I am more at peace with myself knowing where everything I am consuming and wearing came from, and by knowing that in the process that nothing was harmed.
