Hopefulnow, 58

I now realize the importance of sharing time and space with others for whom animals are in the forefront of their hearts and minds. It seems that minutes are of great value, as is every conversation and action that can be taken to advocate the value of every innocent animal on this earth. I do what I can daily in the context of my own life, but I long to spend more minutes, more hours, and more energy on opening the hearts and minds of others to the plight of the animals, and to alleviate as much of their suffering as possible. I am indeed still disenchanted with the ways of the world (with regard to how people mistreat animals, and also how people mistreat each other), but I now choose to be hopeful in knowing there are others who feel the same as I do when they close their eyes at night and when they open their eyes in the morning . . . hopeful in the idea that we may someday meet, be joyful in our hearts and minds that we did, and share time and space together, if only for a while.
