I'm Vegan, as is my husband and son. We love animals!
I grew up on an odd type of farm- or rather an animal sanctuary I guess you would call it. We rescued and rehabilitated exotic and domestic wildlife which included everything from dogs (usually boston terriers) to tigers. I saw so many creatures neglected, suffering, or dead and, thanks to that experience and my family, I was able to develop a large amount of empathy and compassion for animals.I'm on okcupid.com as well (hlkolaya) but it seems difficult to find other atheist vegans. I seem to be in just a few too many niches.
I'm a stay at home mom, but I make and sell jewelry and vegan masquerade masks online. Hubby is a software engineer and also works from home. I'm also the creator of two local meetup groups -Greensboro Atheists and an LGBT group (search for us on meetup.com!)
I value kindness, empathy, intelligence, and creativity- in myself as well as in others. I can be very serious because, let's face it, there are horrible things that happen in the world that deserve our attention. Sometimes when I lose my inhibitions and get comfortable I become that weird person that everyone knows and loves. I can be energetic, spontaneous, and downright silly with the right person.
Also, if all my niches scare you dating wise, I'm still completely open to friendship- i love surrounding myself with other kind hearted people who love animals the way I do!
